Nel dicembre 2018 il professor Remo Buti ha donato al Dipartimento di Architettura DIDA di Firenze 169 modelli di architettura, pensati e realizzati dagli studenti del corso di Arredamento ed Architettura degli Interni da lui tenuto dal 1982 al 2002. Dopo l’acquisizione di questa collezione, il Dipartimento ha deciso di procedere al restauro di tutti i plastici. Così in questo breve e accurato documentario, Sara Caselli e Federico Cavallini riprendono con meticolosità le varie fasi del lavoro affidato al laboratorio modelli per l’architettura del sistema DIDAlabs. Seguendo passo dopo passo i gesti dei restauratori, esploriamo i progetti in questa piccola scala, facendo esperienza dello spazio e di questo particolare aspetto della narrazione architettonica, come un importante patrimonio da preservare nell’epoca del digitale.
In December 2018, Professor Remo Buti donated to the Department of Architecture (DIDA) of the University of Florence 169 architectural models conceived and built by students of the course in Furniture Design and Interior Architecture he taught from 1982 to 2002. After acquiring this collection, the Department decided to proceed with the restoration of all the models. So in this short and detailed documentary, Sara Caselli and Federico Cavallini meticulously film the various phases of the work entrusted to the architectural modelling laboratory of the DIDALABS system. Following the restorers’ work step by step, we explore the projects in this small scale, experiencing the space and this particular aspect of architectural storytelling as an important patrimony to be preserved in the digital age.
